What is Wow Science?

Wow Science was created by Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT) in collaboration with Learning Science Ltd. The site provides links to the best primary science learning materials on the web, helping children to enjoy science both inside and outside the classroom. The resources, which cover a broad range of science subjects and are suitable for all primary ages, can be an excellent tool for teachers, students and their parents. All the resources have been approved by the PSTT for quality and suitability, ensuring the content we promote is accurate and useful to learning.

What is the Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT)?

The PSTT is an educational charity founded in 1997 with an endowment from what is now AstraZeneca. The Trust’s vision is to see excellent teaching of science in every classroom in the UK. Since 1997, the PSTT has funded over 100 projects and invested over £10,000,000 in UK science education. Working with a network of award winning teachers (PSTT College Fellows), our Academic Collaborators and strategic partners, the PSTT continues to develop innovative, creative resources for teaching and learning and disseminates best practice. It is now one of the major voices in the area of primary science teaching and learning and despite focussing on the UK, has developed an international reputation.

What is Learning Science?

Learning Science is an e-learning resource publisher. The company designs and builds resources for science education and provides creative solutions to problems in this field. We are the people behind the award winning interactive tool LabSkills as well as Bristol University’s ChemLabs and eBiolabs. Our team consists of scientists, developers and education professionals.

Are the resources safe?

The resources are carefully selected and tested to make sure the children can enjoy learning safely, however, some sites and apps may carry advertisements and these may change from time to time. As such, we cannot be responsible for the content or type of such advertisements. We recommend that parents/guardians check the content of all external pages. We also recommend that parents/guardians explain to children that they should never provide personal details without the knowledge of the parent/guardian. Any account required to access a particular resource or app should only be set up by a parent/guardian.

If you find something you deem inappropriate for Wow Science to promote, for any reason, then please get in touch by emailing primaryscience@learnsci.co.uk.
